INAE Forum on Indian Landscape of Advanced Structural Materials was constituted with the mandate to focus on structural materials and study the Indian landscape of manufacturing capability, research and development capability and status of advanced structural materials compared to the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

It was emphasized that with the momentum of the \u2018Make in India\u2019 initiative, India will see an increase in manufacturing of advanced components for aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, health, ICT and other such trending sectors. Technology advancements for the materials used in each of these sectors required to be reviewed for their current status, existing research and gaps in India and future roadmaps to be suggested. The forum is expected to highlight the gaps and therefore point at necessary actions in our national structural materials landscape given the pull that will come from the burgeoning advanced components manufacturing in near future.<\/p>\n
