Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship 2020-2021<\/span><\/h2>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) and Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST) had launched the INAE-SERB, DST Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship in the year 2017 to recognize, encourage and support translational research by Individuals working in various capacities of engineering profession, in public funded institutions in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The nominee should have a minimum of 5 years\u2019 service left in the parent organization. The Fellowship amount is Rs 25,000\/- per month in addition to salary being drawn and a Research Grant of Rs.15.00 lakh per annum will also be provided. An Overhead of Rs.1.00 lakh per annum will also be provided to the host institute. A Maximum of 10 Fellowships will be awarded per year. The duration of the Fellowship will be initially for three years, extendable by upto two more years depending on the performance and the Fellowship can be held for a maximum of 5 years.<\/p>\n

Nominations are accepted for the Fellowship throughout the year. In addition, calls for nominations are announced in each Financial Year.<\/p>\n

In view of the unprecedented global crisis due to the pandemic caused by Covid-19 virus, the submission of the prescribed Nomination Form and all supporting documents are accepted through email as a pdf file to INAE (inaehq@inae.in) as a special provision only for the Year 2020-21. In case, the document is not signed (with scanned copy of the signature), an email should be sent by the Nominator viz Heads of the Institutions\/ organizations, Presidents\/ Fellows of National Science\/ Engineering Academies, SS Bhatnagar Awardees and JC Bose awardees, authenticating the nomination.<\/p>\n

In case lockdown is lifted and postal\/courier services are resumed in your area, you may also forward the ink-signed copy of nomination on the prescribed Proforma to INAE Office, Gurgaon through Speed Post\/Courier.<\/p>\n

The call for nominations to be considered for the subject Fellowship, during the Financial Year 2020-2021 is now announced.<\/strong> Nominees who had applied in previous Financial Years and not selected are eligible to apply again till the nominee has a residual service of five years left in his\/her parent organization.<\/p>\n

The last date for the receipt of nominations for the Financial Year 2020-2021 is June 30, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>

Prof Pushpak Bhattacharyya, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, IIT Patna Main Campus, Amhara, Bihta <\/strong>was conferred for his proposal for pursing the research on \u201cShushrut\u201d- a system for increasing efficiency and diagnosis-accuracy of clinical workflow in Indian radiology using Automatic Speech Recognition and Natural Language Processing leading to development of a suite of tools to reduce the burden of report generation on radiologists in India, so that they can concentrate on diagnosis only.<\/p>\n

Prof. V Kamakoti, Senior Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering , Indian Institute of Technology Madras <\/strong> was conferred for his proposal for carrying out research work on \u201cDesign of SHAKTI based secure Micro-processor\u201d leading to development of Processor System-on-Chip (SoC).<\/p>\n

Prof. Sujatha Srinivasan, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Head, TTK Center for Rehabilitation Research and Device Development, Indian Institute of Technology Madras <\/strong>\u00a0was conferred for her proposal for carrying out research work on \u201cDesign and commercialization of an indigenous lever-operated orthotic knee\u201d leading to development of an easy-to-operate affordable locked knee joint for Knee Ankle Foot Orthosis (KAFO).<\/p>\n
