-Was elected a Fellow of The Royal Society of Public Health, London in 2020 -Has been selected for election to the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Biology, London 2020 -Was elected a Fellow of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK in 2019 -Was elected a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering in 2000 in recognition of the valuable impact of his research contribution in Engineering & Technology. -Was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (U.K.) in 1988. -Was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India in 1987. -Was elected a Fellow of Royal Society of Medicine, London in 1989 in recognition of the significant impact of his research contribution in the field of Biomedical Engineering. -Fellow of the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Calcutta -Was one of the two recipients of ‘INAE Outstanding Teachers Award-2013’, Indian National Academy of Engineering, New Delhi. -Received the prestigious Award ‘Ram Mohan Puraskar’ in 2004 for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Mathematics. The Award consisted of a cash prize of Rs. five lakhs, a memento and a citation. -Recipient of the prestigious award, 1984 IIT Kharagpur Silver Jubilee Research Award, the research publications submitted by him having been adjudged by a National Level Committee to be outstanding (He was the only recipient of this award in 1984). This award consisted of a cash prize and a certificate. It was awarded by IIT Kharagpur. -Recipient of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award for Lifetime Contribution in Science, Panama Labs, Chennai, 2017. -Recipient of EET CRS Award for Research Excellence, Mumbai, 2017. -Recipient of EET CRS "Best Scientist Award-2014", Bangalore. -Recipient of CEGR Shiksha Gourav Purskar-2014, New Delhi. -Recipient of Life Time Achievement Award-2015, VENUS International Foundation, awarded in Chennai on 5th July, 2015 -Recipient of ‘Rashtriya Gaurav Award’ in 2004 by India International Friendship Society, New Delhi for meritorious services and remarkable research contributions in Mathematics (along with nuclear physicist Padma Shri Dr. Bikash Sinha, Director of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Calcutta). -Received the coveted Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, Germany in 1975. -Delivered the prestigious Indian Science Congress Platinum Jubilee Lecture 2005 in the Section of Mathematical Sciences (including Statistics). Ivancevic and T. Ivancevic (University of Adelaide, Australia) in their book entitled “Natural Biodynamics”, World Scientific, 2005 (London/USA/Singapore), who have very extensively referred to Misra’s research contributions in the book. -He was appointed by the National Science Foundation of USA, Imperial Press (UK) and World Scientific, Singapore as a Member of their Expert Committees. -Was elected in 2006 President of Mathematical Sciences Section (including Statistics), Indian Science Congress. -Received cash awards twice from Germany for two of his research papers, which were adjudged to have significant industrial applications. -Was awarded the highly coveted D. Sc. (Doctor of Science) degree by the University of Calcutta. -His appointment to the post of Professor was a special offer from IIT Kharagpur, ‘in recognition of his academic excellence’.
