Bina (Bharat-Oman) and Bhatinda (Hindustan Mittal Energy Limited) Refineries. • INAE Expert in the area of Environmental & Chemical Engineering. • Member, Committee for Evaluation of Plan Schemes of Director General, Factory Advice Service and Labor Institutes (DGFASLI) under Ministry of Labor, Government of India. o Visited a number of industries and advised them for improvement in Safety and Environment related issues. • Worked as PI from IIT Roorkee in the Ganga River Basin Management Plan (GRBMP) inter-IIT project. o Helped in formulating CPCB essential documents for devising strategies to have zero-discharge effluents from Pulp & Paper Mills and Distilleries. These strategies were further implemented by CPCB. • Performed Inspection of large number of Gross Polluting Industries (GPIs) for Compliance Verification of Effluent Discharged Standards and improvement in their Pollution Control Strategies on behalf of “National Ganga River Basin Authority' (NGRBA), Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi. • Perfomed ‘Rapid Assessment of Industrial Pollution to the River Ganga in Uttarakhand’ on behalf of GIZ (Deutsch fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit), India. • Currently helping in Pollution and Energy Load minimization in a plant (Continental Carbon India Limited, Gaziabad) manufacturing carbon black. • Extensively studied and optimized physico-chemical and electrochemical treatment of Industrial wastewaters like explosive, textile, pulp and paper, etc. o System in developmental stage for treatment of explosive industry wastewater including DRDO’s Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL), Chandigarh. • Working on projects sponsored by Coal India ltd. and ONGC for the production of alternative fuels such as dimethyl carbonate (DMC), diethyl carbonate (DEC), using CO2, methanol, ethanol, etc. • Developed materials for simultaneous desulfurization & denitrogenation. Also developed a new performance factor, an industrial usability index, and a strategy for realistic screening of solvents during extractive desulfurization.
