INAE organizes its Annual Convention every year, during the month of December. The Convention of the Academy is a mega event attended by Fellows, Foreign Fellows, Young Associates, Awardees and Invitees. The Convention commences with the Inaugural Function wherein the Chief Guest and President, INAE deliver their address. Eminent Engineers from Industry are inducted as Fellows of INAE in a Special Induction Ceremony. The event features several important meetings wherein INAE Fellows participate such as the Governing Council Meeting, Annual General Meeting and Special General Meeting of Fellows. Newly elected Fellows, Foreign Fellows and Young Associates of INAE are inducted during the Annual General Meeting, which also features a Brainstorming Session. The Grand Award Function held during the event, features presentation of awards from student project level to felicitation of the senior distinguished engineering experts as INAE Life Time Contribution in Engineering Awardees. The Annual Convention provides a golden opportunity for networking amongst Fellows, Young Associates and Awardees and is a memorable event eagerly awaited by all concerned every year.

The INAE Annual Convention 2020 was held Online during December 21-22, 2020 due to the unprecedented circumstances all over the world on account of COVID pandemic and the restrictions thereof which limited conduct of a physical Annual Convention. This is the first time that the Annual Convention of INAE was held online.

The INAE Annual Convention 2019, hosted by Birla Institute of Scientific Research (BISR), Jaipur, from December 12 -14, 2019 and coordinated by Dr Purnendu Ghosh, Vice – President, INAE and Executive Director, BISR, Jaipur was held at BISR, Jaipur.

The INAE Annual Convention was held on December 13-15, 2018 at Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad. The Convention commenced with the INAE Governing Council Meeting on Dec 13, 2018 followed by the Award Lectures by two winners of Life Time Contribution Award in Engineering 2018.

The Annual Convention of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) was held on Dec 15-17, 2017 TCS, SIPCOT IT Park, Siruseri, Chennai. The Convention commenced with the Inaugural Session on Dec 15, 2017 during which Mr. K Ananth Krishnan, Executive Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer, TCS, Chennai delivered the Welcome Address.

The Annual Convention of the Indian National Academy of Engineering was held on Dec 8-9, 2016 at Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad. The programme of this year’s Annual Convention had a new format.

The Inaugural Address was delivered by the Chief Guest Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman, JSW Steel. Dr Surendra Pal, Vice- Chancellor, DIAT, Pune delivered the Welcome Remarks.
